What to Expect
Take a day on the beautiful North Shore of Oahu to visit with dozens of sharks in the wild from the safety of a plexiglass cage. Your journey begins when you depart from Haleiwa Harbor, riding out for three miles to where sharks live in abundance.
It doesn't take long for them to appear and once they do the fun begins. You'll be in a cage with big plexiglass windows that is lowered into waters reaching 400 feet deep, . Almost immediately, you'll spot 10 foot long Galapagos sharks coming right at you. The windows are a quarter of an inch thick, so you'll be as close as possible!
You'll probably also witness Sandbar sharks swimming up to the cage; both types of sharks are curious creatures and always come over to check things out. The trip lasts about an hour and a half, giving you plenty of time to experience sharks in their habitat; bring your gopro or underwater camera to capture every moment! And don't worry, you don't need any previous experience to go on the tour. For most people, it's their first time.
Local tip: After you return from your shark adventure, enjoy a stroll through the historic surf town of Haleiwa. Haleiwa Town is a great place for bargain hunting and features a wide selection of local restaurants, cafes, and food trucks. Don't forget to try the shave ice!
Participants must be at least 5 years old.
