This pier and the nearby seawall is a great fishing site. Many charter boats and fishing vessels depart from here.
The waters off Kona are famous for game-fishing. The International Billfish Competition is held here annually in late July or early August. This is an excellent site to view the dramatic sunsets and see the coastal portion of the city. From the seawall, the Hulihe'e Palace grounds can be easily seen with its manicured grass and swaying coconut trees.
